Clivia

Long dark foliage, bright flowers, do well in low-sunlight areas. I have them growing in a patio-ish area under cover. Easy to propagate, seem to sell for a decent amount ;) make good presents fo tricky garden spots. We moved them from another house with no trouble.

Propagation

After flowering there will be some green berry-looking things left.

Once these turn red you can pick them, remove the outer layer, and leave the inside seed to soak in water overnight (a few hours looks like it works, but I haven't tested peeling). There's a membrane remaining, and the water helps to separate this from the seed.

Once they've soaked you can remove this membrane and plant the seeds in some soil. If there's a brown spot on the seed put that facing upwards.

You'll see shoots in about a month.
