Tower of the Sorcerer is a puzzle game with JRPG flavourings.

You have to carefully manage keys and enemy encounters (enemies are more like doors/gates), so gameplay is you moving back-and-forth between floors, getting items, opening doors, and getting strong enough to move past the next enemy type.
