Brother HL-2132
I believe an Australia-only model. Though there're similar-looking, though differently coloured, one available elsewhere as the HL-22xx series.
It's a cheap ($30 new in 2012) monochrome, laser printer, that I've got a lot of use out of.
NB: I always forget this: The paper comes out in the orientation as it goes in. The side that gets printed on is the underside, the top of the page is the side closest to the front of the printer.
Setup
Manual says print margins for A4 are:
- 4.23mm top and bottom (shortest side). In practice I've needed to add at least another centimetre, to the top at least.
- 6.01mm left and right
And in landscape are slightly different for some reason:
- 4.23mm top and bottom (longest side)
- 5mm left and right
CUPS gives 4.233mm for each side.
Toner
I've always bought generics.
models I've found that work fine:
- TN-450
- TN-2030
- TN-2250
Arch Linux
Works with CUPS just fine if you install brother-brgenml1.
※ In the CUPS options screen you might want to change the 'Number of Input Trays'. I believe three is correct.
