====== Wiki ====== ===== Concepts ===== * http://wiki.c2.com/?WikiDesignPrinciples ==== Interwiki ==== The idea of all wikis being connected in a low-tech federation. An interwiki link connects one wiki to another, treating them as parts of a whole. * https://wiki.c2.com/?InterWiki * http://www.usemod.com/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?InterWiki * https://www.dokuwiki.org/Interwiki * https://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/PmWiki/InterMap * https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Interwiki ==== Iteration ==== ==== Markup ==== ===== Contributions ===== I contribute/contributed to the following wikis: * ArchWiki * Game Making Tools Wiki * Join The Fediverse Wiki * MobyGames * Monoskop * Select Button Wiki (No userpages) * Sword of Moonlight Wiki - Gone * The Tilde.town Wiki (No userpages) * Wikia * WikiIndex - Turns out there's some real gross people on this wiki. * Wikipedia * //This one!// ===== Lists ===== ==== Interesting ==== List of wikis I find interesting. Two older-style wikis, which use the wiki format to add comments to pages. * https://wiki.c2.com/\\ Actually now uses an interface a bit like federated_wiki: pages open in same tab, overlaying each other. * https://alexschroeder.ch/wiki ==== Personal Wiki ==== List of other personal wikis I've come across. Unfortunately very software-centric. * Nick Faro's Homepage (Nikipedia) * Gokberk Yaltirakli * Matt's Wiki * Things and Stuff Wiki * strellis.com * Knowledgebase * philosopher.life * wiki.hjertnes.website * Kangaroo Effects * Jack Baty's Rudimentary Lathe === See Also === * Personal wiki section on WikiIndex. * Category:Personal ===== Software ===== * dokuwiki * federated_wiki * mediawiki * pmwiki ===== Hosting ===== Most web hosts will have an automated way to install a bunch of different wiki software. There are also places called //wiki farms// that specialise in maintaining wikis. They take care of installation and updates and tend to have useful extensions installed; leaving you in charge of you in charge of personalisation, content, and moderation. * Miraheze, mediawiki, free. * Fandom, mediawiki, free, shit. * OurProject, moinmoin, free. See also: wp>Comparison of wiki hosting services ===== Useful Scripts and things ===== ==== Pandoc ==== I tend to write my notes in markdown (may just switch to language:Org at some point?), so being able to easily convert from that syntax to something I can plonk into a wiki is very useful! You can even grab HTML files and stuff straight from the WWW. o-> I don't like Markdown enough to actually use it as the markup language for the wiki, though. MD to Doku pandoc [inputfile.md] -f markdown -t dokuwiki -o [outputfile] ==== Fandom / Wikia ==== Fandom/Wikia wiki's are a pain to navigate, and I can barely open them on my phone there're so many ads. and shit. * BreezeWiki - Proxy / frontend alternative thing. * ffaddon>fandom-enhance * ffaddon>clear-fandom-wikia-pages ===== See Also ===== * WikiIndex - Aims to be a wiki of wikis. * WikiMatrix - Wiki feature comparison.
