====== Mordialloc ====== ~~NOTOC~~ Bunurong country. Ngaruk-Willam clan. ===== History ===== Most notably, Mordialloc was the site of Melbourne's major Aboriginal reservation from 1841 to 1878. Previously it had been in the city (Albert Park I think?), but the colonial government decided they wanted the land. After Mordialloc people were forced to move to Coranderrk. Part of the land near Mordialloc Creek that used to be the reserve is now a park. ==== Link Dump ==== Note that most history links have a very white/colonial perspective , mostly based on white accounts. * https://www.emelbourne.net.au/biogs/EM01008b.htm * https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/5704715 * https://pocketozmelbourne.com.au/mordialloc.html * https://victorianplaces.com.au/mordialloc * https://www.kingston.vic.gov.au/Community/Aboriginal-Community * The Tragedy of the Bunurong People: The Mordialloc Connection * https://catalogue.nla.gov.au/Record/1363048 * https://antiqueprints.com.au/product/mordialloc-last-of-the-mordialloc-tribe-of-aborigines/ * https://antiqueprints.com.au/product/mordialloc-tribe-dunbar-lubra-last-of-tribe-165/ * https://antiqueprints.com.au/product/mordialloc-tribe-jimmy-dunbar-and-lubra-100/ * Aboriginal Camp at Mordialloc ===== My Favourite Bits ===== * Two excellent fish'n'chips shops, The Bridge Fish & Chips is the best I've ever had. ===== See Also ===== * wp>Mordialloc, Victoria * wp>Bunurong
