**MusicBrainz** is an open alternative to [[Discogs]], with an uglier web interface and no selling/buying element. I got annoyed by the way certain people on Discogs interpret and police rules, so am switching my contributions over. Always irked me that contributions t oDiscogs are contributions to someone else's company, instead of properly putting information into [[the commons]].
